EPDM O-ring 250 × 5.3 mm (inner diameter 250 mm, cross-section 5.3 mm). Outer diameter 260.6 mm. Hardness 70 Sh A. Temperature range -40 °C to 130 °C. Standard ISO3601-250x5.3. Certifications: WRAS, KTW.
For a static seal of this size (outer diameter 260.6 mm), the ISO 3601-2 / Parker O-Ring Handbook ORD 5700 design guidance recommends a groove depth of about 4.13 mm and a groove width of about 6.89 mm for the 5.3 mm cross-section — roughly 22 % squeeze.

Material properties
EPDM is an ethylene propylene diene rubber with excellent resistance to water, steam, polar solvents, glycol-based brake fluids, ester oils, ozone, UV radiation and weathering. Operating temperature range is -40 °C to +130 °C (sulfur-cured), peroxide-cured grade up to +150 °C and for steam. It is not resistant to mineral oils, fuels and most hydrocarbon oils. Available grades meet WRAS, KTW, DVGW, NSF 61 potable water approvals and EPDM-FDA for food contact.

- Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer
- Also known as
- EPM, ethylene-propylene
- Trade names

Suitable for various industries
EPDM O-rings are used in potable water systems, steam lines, HVAC installations, brake systems (DOT 3/4/5.1), solar assemblies, roofing applications and outdoor enclosures. Typical applications: water fittings, heat exchangers, automotive brake lines, pharmaceutical CIP/SIP (peroxide-cured).
Application notes
The only choice for potable water and glycol-based brake fluids (DOT). Not suitable for mineral oils or fuels — substituting NBR causes immediate failure. For steam use peroxide-cured grade.
Advantages
- Resistant to potable water and steam (peroxide-cured grade)
- Compatible with glycol-based brake fluid
- Excellent ozone, UV and weathering resistance
- Operating range -40 °C to +130 °C
- Available grades with WRAS, KTW, NSF 61 for drinking water
