    Material properties

    Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) is the most widely used elastomer in industrial sealing technology. It offers very good resistance to mineral oils, HLP-type hydraulic fluids, petrol and diesel fuels, propane and silicone oils. Operating temperature range is -30 °C to +100 °C, short-term up to +120 °C. It has good abrasion resistance, low gas permeability and high tensile strength. NBR is not suitable for contact with glycol-based brake fluid, ester oils, ozone and aromatic hydrocarbons.

    Suitable for various industries

    This NBR O-ring is rated for continuous service of roughly -30 to 100 °C. The material tolerates brief temperature peaks higher, but near the limits service life drops significantly. If you operate at the edge of the range, ask our technician about a more suitable compound.
