Material properties
Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) is the most widely used elastomer in industrial sealing technology. It offers very good resistance to mineral oils, HLP-type hydraulic fluids, petrol and diesel fuels, propane and silicone oils. Operating temperature range is -30 °C to +100 °C, short-term up to +120 °C. It has good abrasion resistance, low gas permeability and high tensile strength. NBR is not suitable for contact with glycol-based brake fluid, ester oils, ozone and aromatic hydrocarbons.

Suitable for various industries
NBR O-rings are routinely used in hydraulic cylinders, pneumatic systems, pumps, compressors, air pressure regulators and general mechanical applications. In automotive industry they seal oil systems, fuel lines and engine peripherals. Also suitable for agricultural and construction machinery.
Application notes
Recommended for hydraulic and pneumatic systems with mineral oils. Do not use with glycol-based brake fluid or aromatic hydrocarbons. In dynamic applications keep operating temperature below +100 °C for long service life.
Advantages
- Excellent resistance to mineral oils and HLP-type hydraulic fluids
- Resistant to petrol, diesel fuel and propane
- Operating temperature range -30 °C to +100 °C (short-term +120 °C)
- Good abrasion resistance and mechanical strength
- Best price-performance ratio among industrial elastomers
