Material properties
Fluorocarbon rubber (FKM), known by the trade name Viton, is a premium elastomer for high-temperature and chemically demanding applications. It offers very good resistance to mineral oils, aromatic hydrocarbons, fuels including biodiesel, mineral acids, hot oils, ozone and oxygen. Operating temperature range is -20 °C to +200 °C, short-term up to +230 °C. It is an OEM standard for automotive engine seals. Not suitable for amines, ketones, esters, glycol-based brake fluids, hot water and steam.

Suitable for various industries
FKM O-rings are used in engine systems, turbochargers, fuel injectors, chemical industry, oil & gas industry and aerospace. Typical applications include biodiesel fuel distribution seals, EGR systems, high-temperature hydraulic press cylinder seals, and chemical pumps.
Application notes
Premium choice for engine systems, biodiesel fuel distribution and chemical industry. Avoid glycol-based brake fluid and ketones. In dynamic applications monitor compression set at temperatures above +150 °C.
